PRANITI SUSHILKUMAR SHINDE: Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware of the delays and non-performance of the Parallel Water Pipeline Project in Solapur integrated under the Smart City Mission (SCM) and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether any inquiry or review has been conducted to ascertain the reasons for the delay, cost overruns and under-delivery of intended benefits to citizens under SCM and if so, the details thereof; (c) whether additional funds are being sanctioned or proposed for completing the project and improving city-level water infrastructure in Solapur under SCM and if so, the details thereof; and (d) the time by which the project is expected to be fully operational and provide reliable water supply to the residents of Solapur? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU) (a) & (b): As reported by Solapur Smart City, the work order for Ujani- Solapur Water Pipeline Project was issued on 01.06.2023 with an original completion period up to 01 December 2024 (18 months). Considering land acquisition requirements and the execution of 74 major crossings involving road, railway, highway, canal and river crossings-an extension of six months was granted. The project was successfully completed on 31 May 2025 (24 months). The project has been implemented within the originally approved cost and funding pattern. (c) & (d): As reported by the city, no additional funds have been sanctioned or proposed for completion of the project, as the scheme has been successfully completed. The project has been fully operational since 1 June 2025. *****
