RAKIBUL HUSSAIN: पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम और (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ी Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state: (a) The steps being taken to improve the pipeline infrastructure for the supply of natural gas to Dhubri Lok Sabha Constituency and surrounding areas to ensure that households and industries have reliable access to energy; (b) whether the Government is planning to expand fuel storage and distribution facilities in this Constituency to ensure an uninterrupted supply of petroleum products especially considering the region's strategic importance in the Northeast; and (c) whether there is any plan to establish new petrol and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations in the said Constituency to support the growing vehicle population and reduce reliance on imported petroleum products and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम और (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ालय म(cid:336) रा(cid:475)मं(cid:361)ी ((cid:373)ी सुरेश गोपी) MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUMAND NATURAL GAS (SHRI SURESH GOPI) (a) to(c) Providing Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections, establishment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations and laying of pipeline infrastructure are part of the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) Network and the same is carried out by the entities authorised as per their Minimum work Program (MWP) targets provided by Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). The authorised entities also supply natural gas to customers in industrial sector in their Geographical Area (GA) as per the demand and techno- commercial viability. Dhubri Lok Sabha Constituency is covered under GA comprising Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Mankachar and Goalpara districts. PNGRB has authorised Adani Total Gas Limited (in 2022) for development of City Gas Distribution in Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Mankachar and Goalpara districts GA with MWP target of providing 311962 PNG (Domestic) connections, establishing 62 CNG Stations and laying 962 Inch-Km pipeline in the GA by 2031. As on 31.05.2025, the authorized CGD entity has established 5 CNG stations and laid 112 pipeline Inch-Km in the GA.Expansion of Retail Outlet (RO) network (in rural/urban) by Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) is a continuous process to ensure adequate availability of motor fuels such as petrol and diesel throughout the country. ROs are set up by PSU OMCs at identified locations based on field survey and feasibility studies. Locations having sufficient potential and which are economically viable are rostered in the Marketing Plan for setting up ROs. As on 01.08.2025, PSU OMCs have 47 ROs in Dhubri District. Opening of Oil Depot/ Terminal for storage of petroleum products by Public Sector Oil Marketing Company (OMCs) is a continuous process based on the economic viability of the Depot/ Terminal as per general supply & demand scenario of the region and optimization study to achieve overall reduction in the cost of supplies. Currently, there is no proposal under consideration for setting up of Oil Depot in Dhubri Lok Sabha Constituency by PSU OMCs. ****
