PLASTIC PARKS IN MAHARASHTRA

Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:
(a) whether any proposal for setting up Plastic Park has been received from the State of
Maharashtra under Plastic Park Scheme;
(b) if so, the details therefor along with the current status regarding approval, pending/under
consideration or rejection of the said proposal;
(c) whether any comments/shortcomings have been brought to the notice of the Government
in this regard; and
(d) if so, the details thereof along with the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the
Government to expedite the setting up of the said Park in Maharashtra?

(a) to (d): Under the scheme of setting up of the plastic parks the department has approved 10
Plastic Parks in the various States. These 10 Plastic Parks are at various stages of
implementation, and the Department is focusing on successful completion and
operationalization of these 10 parks. Presently, establishment of new Plastic Parks is not being
considered. No proposal has been received from the State of Maharashtra under Plastic Park
Scheme.
