(a) to (c): The Government of India, through the Department of Chemicals and
Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, is implementing the Scheme for Setting
up of Plastic Parks to support the development of need-based plastic processing clusters in the
country. The objective of the scheme is to promote the downstream plastic processing industry
by providing infrastructure and common facilities through a cluster development approach,
thereby enhancing investment, production, and employment generation in the sector.Under the scheme, the Government of India provides a grant-in-aid up to 50% of the project
cost, subject to a ceiling of Rs. 40 crore per project, while the remaining cost is borne by the
State Government/implementing agency and participating industries through a Special Purpose
Vehicle (SPV).
Madhya Pradesh:
Two Plastic Parks have been approved in the State, namely:
1. Tamot Plastic Park - Approved in 2013 with a total project cost of about Rs. 108
crore, including a Government of India grant of Rs. 40 crore.
2. Bilaua Plastic Park (Gwalior) - Approved in 2018 with a total project cost of about
Rs. 68.72 crore, including a Government of India grant of Rs. 34.36 crore.
These parks are developed with common infrastructure and facilities such as roads, power
supply, water supply, sewerage/waste treatment systems, common facilities centre, and other
support services to facilitate the growth of plastic processing industries and generate
employment in the region.
So far, 10 Plastic Parks have been approved in different States of the country. The State-wise
