GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3706 ANSWERED ON 11.08.2026 PLI SCHEME FOR AUTOMOBILE AND AUTO COMPONENTS †3706. SHRI TARIQ ANWAR: Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has made a State-wise assessment of the projects approved, investments, beneficiaries and progress under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the Automobile and Auto Component Industry and the PM E-DRIVE Scheme from the year 2023- 24 onwards, if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the Ministry has reviewed the schemes being implemented with the objective of boosting advanced manufacturing, clean technologies, the electric vehicle ecosystem and domestic manufacturing capacity, if so, the details thereof; and (c) whether the Government proposes to provide additional Central assistance, promote new projects or encourage the establishment of manufacturing units under the Ministry's schemes in less comparatively developed regions, including the Seemanchal region of Bihar with a view to promoting industrial investment and employment and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) (a) to (c): PLI Scheme for Automobile & Auto Component Industry in India is notified on 23.09.2021, for enhancing India's manufacturing capabilities for Advanced Automotive Technology (AAT) products with a budgetary outlay of ₹25,938 crore. The status of implementation across all states (including Bihar) is as below:- Parameter Cumulative till 31.03.2026 Investment (Rs. crore) 44,326 Incremental Sales (Base Year FY2019-20) (Rs. crore) 52,414 Employment generated (Nos.) 67,820 Incentive disbursed (Rs. crore) 2,386.36 To boost domestic manufacturing and localisation of AAT products (including clean technologies), and attract investments in EV ecosystem, PLI-Auto scheme mandates minimum Domestic Value Addition (DVA) of 50% for availing incentives. Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) periodically review the scheme progress with approved applicants and testing agencies (TAs). As on 03.08.2026, 18 applicants have received DVA certificates for 155 AAT products/variants manufactured across the country (including Bihar). PM E-DRIVE Scheme has been implemented on pan India basis and no state-wise allocation has been done under the scheme. The incentives are provided to eligible electric vehicle buyers in the form of an upfront reduction in the purchase price, which is subsequently reimbursed to the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) by MHI. No State-wise assessment has been done under the scheme. ********
