SAGARIKA GHOSE: Will the Minister of STEEL be pleased to state: (a) quantity of speciality steel created under different categories since the inception of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme; (b) total investments received and utilized during the financial year 2024-25; (c) total number of review meetings initiated in the on-going Research and Development (R&D) projects since October 2024; and (d) reasons for the foreclosure of the project on energy efficient production of medium carbon ferromanganese in electric arc furnace? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) MINISTRY OF STEEL (a)to(d): About 2.4 million tonnes of specialty steel has been produced domestically, and an investment of about ₹ 23,600 crore has been made under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme up to December, 2025. Research and Development (R&D) projects are reviewed. Project Review Committee (PRC) takes a decision on projects based on factors including progress, achievability of results, conflict of views between the project stakeholders, if any etc. *****
