GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 2818 ANSWERED ON 05.08.2026 PM-KUSUM IN MADHYA PRADESH 2818. SMT. ANITA NAGARSINGH CHOUHAN will the minister of new and renewable energy be pleased to state: (a) whether effective implementation of solarisation of agricultural feeders, installation of solar irrigation pumps and decentralized solar energy projects is being carried out under the Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) in Madhya Pradesh particularly in Ratlam Lok Sabha Constituency; (b) if so, the details of sanctioned and installed solar pumps, solarized agricultural feeders along with the number of farmers benefited under the PM-KUSUM in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in the said constituency, district-wise; (c) whether PM-KUSUM has resulted in reduction of irrigation costs, increase in farmers income, uninterrupted availability of electricity and improvement in the socio-economic condition of rural areas; and (d) if so, the details of the steps taken by the Government to extend the benefits of the PM- KUSUM to the remaining eligible farmers, reduce the burden of electricity subsidy in the agriculture sector and promote the use of green energy? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK) (a) & (b) The PM KUSUM is a demand driven scheme and is being implemented in all states, including Madhya Pradesh. Implementation of the scheme is the responsibility of State Implementing Agencies (SIAs). As reported by SIA, the progress in the State of Madhya Pradesh is as follows: (as on 30.06.2026) PM KUSUM Sanctioned Installation Components A (in MW) 1,401 201.66 B (number of pumps) 59,400 24,682 C (number of pumps) 1,75,000 62,378The progress under Ratlam Lok Sabha Constituency, District wise, is as follows: Districts Installation Installation under Comp A under Comp B (MW) (No of Pumps) Ratlam 7 981 Jhabua NIL 67 Alirajput 1 41 No installation is reported under Component C in the scheme. (c) The states have reported reduced cost of power procurement, reduction of per unit supply cost of energy, reduction of energy losses and improved socio economic conditions in rural areas in their states. The SIA of Madhya Pradesh reported the power procurement at low tariff of Rs 2.94-3.25 per unit through PM KUSUM projects. Under Component B, the state is providing 60% state share, apart from central financial assistance of 30%, making solar pumps accessible for farmers. (d) To encourage adoption of PM KUSUM Scheme and extend the benefits to remaining eligible farmers, the Ministry undertakes regular awareness, capacity-building and stakeholder engagement activities under the scheme. These include regional workshops, review meetings with States, capacity- building programmes, print, television and radio outreach campaigns, and continuous monitoring of scheme implementation with States and DISCOMs to facilitate timely implementation and greater beneficiary participation. *****
