PM MITRA PARK FOR TELANGANA

Will the Minister of TEXTILES वस्त्र मंत्री
be pleased to state :
(a) whether any PM MITRA Park has been sanctioned or proposed for Telangana;
(b) the details of funds allocated, released and utilised in Telangana under the PM Mega
Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks Scheme, the National Handloom
Development Programme (NHDP) and the Handloom Weavers', Comprehensive Welfare
Scheme since 2014, year-wise;
(c) the details and number of beneficiaries in Telangana under the NHDP and the Handloom
Weavers' Comprehensive Welfare Scheme, year-wise;
(d) the details of measures taken by the Government to strengthen the textile and handloom
sector in Telangana through these schemes; and
(e) whether any additional financial assistance or projects are proposed for the State and if so, the
details thereof?

(a): To develop integrated large scale and modern industrial infrastructure facility for entire
value-chain of the textile industry, the Government has approved setting up of 7 (Seven) PM
Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks in Greenfield/Brownfield sites
with scheme outlay of Rs. 4,445 Crore for the period 2021-22 to 2027-28. The Government has
finalised 7 sites including one in Warangal, Telangana for setting up PM MITRA Parks.
(b): The site was selected under brownfield category. ₹ 300 Cr. has already been expended
towards development of trunk infrastructure. The park was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble
Prime Minister on 10.05.2026. Currently, the park is operational with around 548 acres of land
already being allotted to investors and commercial production has started. Once completed, the
project is envisaged to generate 1 Lakh direct and 2 Lakh indirect Jobs. With existing
commitments alone, over 24,400 direct jobs are expected to be generated. A strong majority of
the workforce in operating apparel units comprises women. Structured skilling programs and
local preference policies ensure gainful employment for youth and vulnerable sections, including
Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), fostering inclusive regional
development. With regards to handloom sector, budget is not allocated State-wise. Funds are
released to eligible handloom agencies based on receipt of viable proposals under the extant
scheme guidelines. Year-wise Budget Estimates and expenditure under the National Handloom
Development Programme (NHDP) are mentioned in Annexure.(c) to (e): The Ministry of Textiles is administering following schemes to strengthen the
handloom sector and welfare of handloom workers across the country including Telangana:
1. National Handloom Development Programme(NHDP);
2. Raw Material Supply Scheme(RMSS);
Under the above schemes, financial assistance is provided to eligible handloom agencies/workers
for raw materials, procurement of upgraded looms & accessories, solar lighting units,
construction of workshed, skilling, product diversification & design innovation, technical and
common infrastructure, publicity and brand development through India Handloom Brand (IHB),
Handloom Mark (HLM) and GI tag, e-commerce facilities, marketing of handloom products in
domestic/overseas markets, concessional loans under weavers’ MUDRA scheme and social
security etc.
Further, the following support has been provided to handloom sector in Telangana during since
2014:
35 Small Handloom Clusters have been taken up for financial assistance of Rs.21.29
crore benefitting to 7,962 handloom workers.
86 marketing events organized to facilitate and promote sales of Handloom Products.
To enhance productivity, marketing capabilities and facilitate better incomes, 36
Handloom Producer companies have been formed.
8,604 beneficiaries provided loans under Weavers’ MUDRA Scheme.
52,149 beneficiaries enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and
Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
Total 149 lakh kg of yarn supplied under Transport Subsidy & Price Subsidy.
