Parliament Question: PM-SGMBY in West Bengal

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3927 ANSWERED ON 12.08.2026 PM-SGMBY IN WEST BENGAL 3927. SHRI SAUMITRA KHAN SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH PATEL SHRI HARIBHAI PATEL SHRI RAHUL SINGH LODHI Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state: (a) the details of number of beneficiaries currently enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri- Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM-SBMBY) in the country, State/UT-wise particularly in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh including Damoh Lok Sabha Constituency; (b) the details of the total volume of applications received under the said scheme and the total number of rooftop solar installations successfully completed, State-UT-wise, district-wise for West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh; (c) the details of eligible beneficiaries who have successfully received the financial subsidy till date in the said States; and (d) the details of the aggregate subsidy amount released to beneficiaries under this solar initiative? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK) (a) to (d) Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY), which is a demand-driven scheme, since its launch in February 2024, a total of 78,04,808 applications have been received, 42,29,482 rooftop solar (RTS) systems have been installed, benefitting 50,84,094 households and an amount of Rs. 28,516.18 crore has been released as Central Financial Assistance (CFA) against 36,70,658 RTS systems installed across the country, as on 07.08.2026. The state/UT-wise details are placed at Annexure I.
