convergence; and
(c) the initiatives taken for quality monitoring through mobile

(a): The details of number of Pradhan MantriAwaasYojana - Gramin
(PMAY-G) houses completed in the aspirational districts of Gujarat
during the Financial Year 2024–25 are as under:

(b): In addition to the unit assistance of Rs 1.2 lakh per house
provided under the PMAY-G, assistance of Rs.12,000/- is also
extended for construction of toilets through convergence with
Swachh Bharat Mission – Gramin (SBM-G), Mahatma Gandhi National
Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) or any other
dedicated source of funding. Further, it is mandatory to provide
support of 90/95 person days unskilled wage employment at the
current rates to a PMAY-G beneficiary for construction of his /her
Page 1 of 3house in convergence with MGNREGS. The PMAY-G households are
also provided piped drinking water, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG),
renewable energy source and building material is also provided
through convergence with different government programmes.
Convergence under the scheme also involves inclusion of women
members of PMAY-G households under the fold of Self Help Groups
(SHGs) through NRLM to explore better livelihood opportunities.
In the state of Gujarat, 5,79,467 toilets have been constructed
and 5,86,076 LPG connections have been provided in convergence
with PMAY-G houses since inception of the scheme.
(c): Monitoring of PMAY-G is done through real time capture of
progress using workflow enabled ene to end transactional data in
MIS i.e. AwaasSoft and AwaasApp. Under PMAY-G, the house is
constructed by the beneficiary himself/herself or under his/her
supervision. Under PMAY-G, the following mechanism is in place to
ensure the better design and quality of houses:
(i) The beneficiaries are being assisted in house construction with a
bouquet of house design typologies inclusive of disaster resilient
features that are suitable to their local geoclimatic conditions,
cultural preferences and availability of construction materials. 3D
designs of house design typologies have been made available in the
Awaas+ 2024 Mobile app for selection by the beneficiaries.
(ii) The Ministry has published a compendium of rural housing
typologies "PAHAL" which is available on the program website of
PMAY-G. The Ministry has taken an initiative to digitize PAHAL to
recommend ideal housing design to beneficiary through Awaas App.
(iii) The Ministry has also developed a mobile application namely
Awaas SAKHI. Through this App beneficiaries are also provided
information regarding availability of house design typologies, locally
available BIS certified construction material and rural masons.
(iv) The Ministry has requested all the States/UTs through letter
dated 24.06.2024 and during review meetings, to issue direction to
officials concerned to encourage and orient beneficiaries as far as
possible, to procure BIS-certified (ISI marked) construction
material.

(BIS) organised Capacity Building Programme for senior officials of
Rural Development Department of States/UTs in December, 2024 to
sensitize them on the Indian Standards relevant to housing sectors,
and about tools and platforms developed by BIS which they can
leverage upon for ensuring quality construction of houses under
PMAY-G.
(vi) The Area Officer App is also being used under PMAY-G for
monitoring visits performed by officials to monitor progress of
PMAY-G at ground level.
