Parliament Question: PMFME Scheme in Rajasthan

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION No. 1938 ANSWERED ON 11TH DECEMBER, 2025 PMFME SCHEME IN RAJASTHAN 1938. SHRI RAHUL KASWAN: Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state: (a) whether any special assistance program is being implemented under Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme or other schemes in Rajasthan to formalize micro food enterprises engaged in the production of papad, badi, pickles, spices, namkeen and other traditional food products and if so, the details thereof; (b) the details of the number of such micro food entrepreneurs in Rajasthan who received branding, packaging, labeling and market-linking assistance during the last three years, district- wise; (c) whether any specific product has been identified under the FPO cluster model, Cluster- Based Approach or One District One Product (ODOP) to promote traditional food enterprises in the State and if so, the details thereof; and (d) whether the Government is supporting traditional micro enterprises of Rajasthan for accessing larger markets through e-commerce onboarding, FSSAI, barcoding and export handholding and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES (SHRI RAVNEET SINGH) (a): Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is implementing a centrally sponsored "PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme" for providing financial, technical and business support for setting up of new / upgradation of micro food processing enterprises in the country including Rajasthan. The scheme aims to enhance the competitiveness of micro-enterprises in the unorganized segment of the food processing industry and promote formalization of the sector. The details of financial assistance available to Micro Food Processing Enterprises engaged in manufacturing of various products including papad, badi, pickles, spices, the production of namkeen etc. under PMFME Scheme are at Annexure-I. (b): For the State of Rajasthan, 6 micro food processing enterprises in Kota district engaged in Spices have received the benefit of Branding & Marketing assistance through National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) under the PMFME Scheme. (c): Under the Scheme, One District One Product (ODOP) has been identified for 33 districts to promote micro food processing enterprises in the State of Rajasthan as per the details at Annexure-II. To promote traditional food enterprises in the State, preference is given to the ODOPbased food processing micro enterprises for availing benefits under various components of the Scheme. (d): Under the Branding and Marketing component of PMFME Scheme, support is provided to the groups of FPOs/SHGs/Cooperatives or an SPV of micro food processing enterprises with a grant of upto 50% of the eligible project cost, for developing a common brand with provision for quality control, standardisation, packaging and adhering to food safety parameters for consumer retail sale. *****ANNEXURE-I ANNEXURE REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) OF THE LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1938 FOR ANSWER ON 11.12.2025 REGARDING “PMFME SCHEME IN RAJASTHAN” The details of financial assistance available under Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme are as under: (i). Support to Individual / Group Category Micro Enterprises: Credit-linked capital subsidy @35% of the eligible project cost, maximum ceiling Rs.10 lakh per unit; (ii). Support to SHGs for seed capital: Seed capital @ Rs. 40,000/- per member of SHG engaged in food processing for working capital and purchase of small tools subject to maximum of Rs. 4 lakh per SHG Federation. (iii). Support for Common Infrastructure: Credit linked capital subsidy @35% subject to maximum of Rs. 3 crore to support FPOs, SHGs, Cooperatives and any Government agency for setting up of common infrastructure. The common infrastructure will also be available for other units and public to utilize on hiring basis for substantial part of the capacity. (iv). Branding and Marketing Support: Grant upto 50% for Branding and Marketing to groups of FPOs/ SHGs/ Cooperatives or an SPV of micro food processing enterprises. (v).
