(c) reasons identified for drop-outs or non-placements?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL
DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
(SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY)
(a) to (c): PMKVY 4.0, which is being implemented since FY 2022-23, is a demand-driven Scheme
under which skilling targets are allocated to implementing entities based on the proposals submitted
by them, taking into consideration the skill gaps identified in the respective States.
During FY 2022-23 to FY 2024-25, a total of 90,921 candidates have been trained in Karnataka under
PMKVY 4.0.
Under PMKVY, placements were tracked in the Short-Term Training (STT) Component of first three
versions of the Scheme which were PMKVY 1.0, PMKVY 2.0 and PMKVY 3.0 implemented from
FY 2015-16 to FY 2021-22. Under PMKVY 4.0, the focus is to empower our trained candidates to
choose their varied career paths and they are suitable oriented for the same through On-Job Training
(OJT) embedded industry relevant skill courses.
Dropouts under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 primarily occur due to
factors such as seasonal employment, migration, and personal reasons like candidates opting for
higher education, employment etc.
