Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of post offices in various States of the country particularly in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh;
(b) the district-wise details of the number of post offices not connected to internet in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh; and
(c) the measures being taken to expedite the digitalization of all the post offices in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (DR. PEMMASANI CHANDRA SEKHAR)
(a) There are total 1,64,999 post offices in various States / UTs of the country, out of which 13,777 post offices are in Maharashtra and 10,275 post offices are in Madhya Pradesh.
(b) All the post offices are connected to internet in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
(c) All the post offices have been digitalized in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. ***** 1
