GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF POWER LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.3123 ANSWERED ON 06.08.2026 POWER GENERATION AND CONSUMPTION 3123. KM. SUDHA R: Will the Minister of POWER be pleased to state: (a) the details of power generated and consumed by each State since 2014, State- wise; (b) the details of the percentage of power generated by the private sector including break-up of wind and solar power; (c) whether the Government has any wave energy project, if so, the details thereof; and (d) whether India is exporting power to any other country, if so, the details thereof since 2014, country-wise? A N S W E R THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD NAIK) (a): The state-wise details of Power Generation and Power Supply Position since 2014-15 to 2026-27 (till June, 2026) are given at Annexure - I and Annexure –II respectively. (b): The details of wind and solar power generated in the country including private sector for the last financial year (2025-26) and current financial year (2026-27, upto June 2026) and sector-wise power generation from conventional sources in terms of percentage for the last financial year (2025-26) and current financial year (2026-27, upto June 2026) are given Annexure-III. (c): No wave energy project has been installed in the country. (d): India is Exporting power to Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar through Power Exchange(s) and bilateral mode. The details of power exported by India to neighbouring countries in terms of energy through entities connected to India Grid, are given at Annexure-IV. Further Adani Power Jharkhand Limited (APJL) is supplying power exclusively to Bangladesh from F.Y.2022-23.
