(a): The Government of India, Ministry of Textiles has been providing financial assistance and
institutional support to the powerloom sector throughout the Country including Tamil Nadu. Ministry of
Textiles has been implementing several schemes for the development, modernization and sustainability
of powerloom units across the country, including those in Tamil Nadu. A few major interventions
include:-
(a) Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS).
(b) PowerTex India Scheme.
(c) Comprehensive Powerloom Cluster Development Scheme (CPCDS).
(d) Textile Cluster Development Scheme (TCDS).
(e) Training, Design & Development Support through ITAD Centres (Erstwhile
Powerloom Services Centres)
