GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO- 3820 TO BE ANSWERED ON- 25/03/2026 PRADHAN MANTRI JANJATI ADIVASI NYAYA MAHA ABHIYAN 3820 SHRI HARSH MAHAJAN: Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the major works and infrastructural facilities that have so far been approved/initiated under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) for the holistic development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) across the country; (b) the details of the projects approved, funds released and the number of beneficiary families under the said mission, State-wise and particularly in Himachal Pradesh; and (c) whether Government has set up any special mechanism or time-bound targets for the effective implementation and monitoring of this mission, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI DURGADAS UIKEY) (a) to (c): Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN) is targeted at socio-economic development of 75 PVTGs communities residing in 18 States and 1 UT. These objectives are being met through 11 interventions implemented by 9-line Ministries. State of Himachal Pradesh has no identified PVTGs. Based on the data collection exercise by the State Governments/UT Administration, PVTG population is around 48.48 lakhs. However, the actual number of beneficiaries to be covered under this abhiyan is subject to eligibility criteria of specific guidelines of concerned interventions as per approved norms. The progress of various interventions including targets, Ministry-wise and State-wise, under PM JANMAN is given in Annexure-I. The details of financial progress for interventions of Ministry of Tribal Affairs under the abhiyan are given in Annexure II. The Ministry regularly reviews the progress of implementation with line Ministries, State Governments and District Administrations. In addition, a digital dashboard has been developed on the PM GatiShakti portal to monitor the progress of works under PM JANMAN.
