SHRI KULDEEP INDORA: (OIH) Will the Minister of CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware despite a good Moong crop in Shri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts of Rajasthan, farmers are unable to avail the benefit of Minimum SupportPrice (MSP) as Government procurement does not commence in a timely manner and farmers are compelled to sell their produce to middlemen at lower prices; (b) if so, the percentage of the estimated production of Moong procured at MSP in ShriGanganagar and Hanumangarh districts during the last three years including the current year and the reasons for delay in procurement; (c) whether the Government is aware that when farmers bring their produce to procurement centres, their crops are often rejected on the grounds of higher moisture content or other reasons with the intent of benefiting middlemen; and (d) if so, the remedial steps being taken by the Government in this regard? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (SHRI B.L.VERMA) (a) : During Kharif 2025-26 till 05.02.2026, a total of 25,530.49 MT of Moong amounting to Rs.223.85 crore has been procured in Shri Ganganagar District at Minimum Support Price (MSP) under Price Support Scheme (PSS), benefiting 12,426 farmers out of 15,986 farmers registered for the PSS procurement. In the case of Hanumangarh District, 9,179.65 MT of Moong amounting to Rs 80.48 crore has been procured, benefiting 4,990 farmers out of the 8,582 registered farmers. Procurement of crops, including Moong, at MSP are done in coordination with the State Governments which decides the commencement of procurement. (b) : During Kharif 2025-26, the PSS procurement of Moong commenced on 24.11.2025, and the last date of procurement is 21.02.2026 in the State of Rajasthan, as declared by the Government of Rajasthan.
