PRODUCTION OF FAKE FERTILIZERS IN RAJASTHAN

Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:
(a) the number of fake fertilizers production factories uncovered in Rajasthan and the
action taken against them till date;
(b) whether it is true that other pesticides and nano urea are being forcibly given to
farmers along with fertilizers, if so, the details thereof and the estimate therefor;
(c) whether any Government agency is involved therein and if so, the details thereof
along with the action taken against such Government agency; and
(d) whether any responsibility is fixed against the authorities for the loss caused to the
farmers due to unavailability of DAP and other fertilizers on time and if so, the
details thereof?
ANSWER

(a) As per the information received from the State Government of Rajasthan,
Fertilizer Inspectors inspected manufacturers of chemical fertilizers, organic fertilizers
and potash derived from molasses (PDM) located in Kishangarh, Ajmer. Out of which,
seizure and FIR proceedings had been initiated against 16 companies. Authorization
letter of 13 companies have been cancelled.
(b) & (c) Tagging/linking of other products with fertilizers is not encouraged by
Department of Fertilizers. Accordingly, suitable directions are issued to fertilizer
companies directing them not to indulge in such practices. Further, State Governments
are also advised to take strict action under the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) – 1985
to prevent tagging.
Further, no such case has been reported by the State Government of Rajasthan.
(d) The availability of DAP in the State of Rajasthan has remained adequate during
the ongoing Kharif 2025 season. From 01.04.2025 to 22.07.2025, 2,27,000 Metric
Tons of DAP has been made available in the State of Rajasthan and the State currently
holds a closing stock of 61,000 Metric Tons of DAP.
