GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3931 ANSWERED ON 12.08.2026 PROGRESS OF PM-SGMBY IN UTTAR PRADESH 3931.SHRI CHHATRAPAL SINGH GANGWAR Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state: (a) the details of the progress made under the Pradhan Mantri-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM-SGMBY) and other renewable energy schemes in Uttar Pradesh specifically in Bareilly district; (b) the number of families and institutions benefited under these schemes in Uttar Pradesh; and (c) whether any additional initiative is proposed by the Government to promote solar energy based public infrastructure and energy generation in Uttar Pradesh particularly in Bareilly district and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK) (a) & (b) The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), the state agency for promotion of renewable energy in the state of Uttar Pradesh has reported following progress under PM Surya Ghar Muft: Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) and other renewable energy schemes in the state of Uttar Pradesh, including in Bareilly district: S. Scheme Progress made Progress made No. in Uttar in Bareilly Pradesh district 1 PMSG: MBY 7 3 7 8 6 8 N os 29468 Nos (Residential (2484 MW) (98.17 MW) Rooftop Solar) 2 Non-Residential 10138 Nos 9 Nos Rooftop Solar (475 MW) (5 MW) 3 PM KUSUM 8654 Nos 1 5 4 Nos (1.66 (IPS) (74.32 MW) MW) 4 Utility scale 3081 MW - Solar Project While the PMSG: MBY and PM KUSUM scheme benefits individual household families and farmer families respectively, the non-residential rooftop benefits the institutions. (c): In addition to the existing schemes of MNRE such as PMSG: MBY, PM KUSUM, etc., the Government of Uttar Pradesh has also declared Solar Energy Policy-2022. This policy has provisions to promote solar energy generation of utility-scale solar projects, rooftop solar systems, solar parks, solarisation of buildings and other eligible applications, across all districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Bareilly. *****
