Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) the details of projects approved under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for the Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI) indicating the number of beneficiaries, investment committed, incentives released and employment generated, State-wise;
(b) the details of projects approved in Odisha including information on investments, processing capacity created and jobs generated, district-wise;
(c) whether the Ministry has undertaken any assessment of the impact of PLISFPI on reducing post-harvest losses, enhancing value addition and increasing farmers' income and, if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the details of the targets proposed to be achieved under the Scheme during the remaining implementation period up to 2026-27? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES (SHRI CHIRAG PASWAN)
(a): Under Production Linked Incentive Scheme for the Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI), there are no State-wise approval of the applicants. Total 127 beneficiaries/companies have been approved under the scheme across the country. Total investment of about Rs.9,207 crore has been made by the approved applicants against the committed investment of Rs.7,722 crore.
Total incentive amount of Rs. 3,271.44 crore have been disbursed under the Scheme up to June
2026. About 3.35 lakh both direct and indirect employment opportunities have been generated by the approved applicants under the scheme. State-wise data on employment is not maintained. The state-wise details of the projects/units and investment achieved is at Annexure.
(b): Under PLISFPI, five manufacturing units of approved applicants are located in Odisha.
All these units are operational. Investment of Rs.196.30 crore has been made in these Units by the approved applicants. Total 110.22 thousand metric tonnes per annum of processing capacity has been created under the scheme. The details of district-wise units are as under:

(c): The Ministry of Food Processing Industries regularly reviews the implementation of the scheme. The objectives of the Scheme are to support the creation of global food manufacturing champions, promote Indian brands of food products, increase employment opportunities for off-farm jobs, ensure remunerative prices of farm produce and higher income to the farmers.
The scheme has contributed to expansion of food processing capacity, adoption of advanced processing and packaging technologies, strengthening of supply chains and import substitution.
The incentives under the scheme are admissible where the entire chain of manufacturing processes, including primary processing of the food products applied for coverage under the scheme takes place in India, thereby promoting domestic value addition. The investments undertaken under the Scheme across the country have resulted in creation of around 34 lakh metric tonnes per annum of additional food processing capacity, strengthening food processing infrastructure and supply chains.
(d): About 3.35 lakh both direct and indirect employment have been generated by the approved applicants against the targeted employment of 2.5 lakh under the scheme. Total investment of about Rs.9,207 crore has been made by the approved applicants against the committed investment of Rs.7,722 crore. The investments undertaken under the Scheme across the country have resulted in creation of around 34 lakh metric tonnes per annum of additional food processing capacity, strengthening food processing infrastructure and supply chains.
