SHRI AMARSING TISSO will the minister of new and renewable energy be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is promoting agrivoltaics (dual use of land for solar power and agriculture); (b) if so, the details of pilot projects undertaken so far and the outcomes thereof; and (c) whether any such projects are proposed or sanctioned in tribal-dominated districts like Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao of Assam and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK) (a) & (b) Component A of the PM KUSUM scheme allows for setting up of decentralized ground mounted grid connected solar power plants in stilt fashion (also known as Agrivoltaics) by farmers on their land. Farmers have successfully implemented few agrivoltaics plants in states like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra etc. under PM KUSUM and third party projects. (c) PM-KUSUM is a demand driven scheme. The capacities are allocated based on demand received from the States/UTs. Implementation, including selection of beneficiaries is the responsibility of State Implementing Agencies (SIAs).
