Shri Rajesh Naranbhai Chudasama: Will the Minister of Ayush be pleased to state: (a) the details of the initiatives undertaken by the Government to promote the AYUSH systems of medicine including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy in the State of Gujarat; (b) the details of the establishment and functioning of AYUSH hospitals, dispensaries and wellness centres in rural and urban areas of Gujarat, district-wise; and (c) the details of funds allocated and released for various projects and programmes of the Ministry in the State of Gujarat during the last five years, project-wise and year-wise? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) The Government through its various initiatives has been able to promote Ayush in the Country including in the State of Gujarat. With the view to fulfil the mandate of propagation of Ayush System of Healthcare, the Ministry of Ayush implements a Central Sector Scheme for Promotion of Information Education and Communication (IEC) in Ayush. This aims to reach out to all sections of the population across the country including in the State of Gujarat. Under this Scheme, Ministry organises National/ State level Arogya Fairs, Yoga Fests/ Utsavs, Ayurveda Parvs, celebrate important days of Ayush system, participate in Health fairs/ melas, Exhibitions etc, provide financial assistance for organising seminars, workshops, conferences and conduct multimedia campaigns etc. to create awareness among citizens regarding Ayush system of health care. Further, Ministry of Ayush is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) through State/UT Governments including Gujarat and providing financial assistance to them for overall development and promotion of Ayush systems of medicine including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, as per proposals received in the State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) and in accordance with NAM guidelines.(b) Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility for establishment and functioning of Ayush hospitals, dispensaries and wellness centres in rural and urban areas, comes under the purview of the respective State/UT Government including Gujarat. Under NAM there is a provision for establishment of 10/30/50 bedded integrated Ayush Hospitals & New Ayush Dispensaries. The Government of India supports these efforts through NAM. Status of approved 10/30/50 bedded integrated Ayush Hospitals is as follows: S. Under the National Ayush Mission (NAM), grants-in-aid are being provided to States/UTs, including Gujarat, as per approved proposals. The details of funds released to Gujarat during the last five years are placed at Annexure-II. Under the Ayush and Public Health Component of Ayurswasthya Yojana, during the last 5 years, an amount of Rs.29.99 Lakhs have been released to Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar for implementation of project titled ‘Management of Pandu (Anemia) in adolescent girls and women of reproductive age group with Ayurvedic medicines in Jamnagar taluka of Jamnagar District’ in the state of Gujarat. ***Annexure-I Programme details under IEC scheme in Gujarat during last five years S.
