Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) whether any Solar Park, Wind Power Project or Bio-Energy Cluster scheme is being implemented
by the Government particularly to promote installation of renewable energy plants/projects in
Madhya Pradesh and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether any special initiative has been taken with regard to solar energy based agriculture pumps,
rooftop solar plants or components of Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan
Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) in Satna district and if so, the details thereof;
(c) the number of direct or indirect employment opportunities generated for local youth and technical
workers through solar energy, biomass and other renewable energy projects; and
(d) whether any such employment generation programme has been conducted/proposed to be conducted
in Satna district and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Government has taken several initiatives and has been implementing various
schemes/programmes for promotion and development of renewable energy in the country
including the State of Madhya Pradesh. As on 30.6.2025, a total of 11,279.39 MW electricity
capacity from different renewable energy sources such as solar (5570 MW), wind (3195.15
MW), bio power (155.46 MW) and hydro power (2358.71 MW), has been installed in Madhya
Pradesh. Under the scheme for “Development of Solar Parks and Ultra-Mega Solar Power
Projects”, the Ministry has sanctioned 8 solar parks of aggregate capacity 4248 MW in Madhya
Pradesh. The details are as given below:

(b) The Government launched PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM-SGMBY) in February, 2024
for installing rooftop solar for one crore households by 2026-27 across all States/ UTs in the
country. In Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, 1419 applications have been submitted on the
National Portal of the scheme as on 24.07.2025 and 648 households have been covered with
installation of rooftop solar systems.
The Government has also been implementing Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam
Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme across all States/ UTs of the country. Under the
scheme, capacities are allocated based on demand received and progress shown by the
States/UTs. Implementation including selection of beneficiaries is the responsibility of State
Implementing Agencies (SIAs). As reported by SIA for the Scheme in Madhya Pradesh, under
Component-A of the Scheme, Letter of Award (LoA) has been issued for 15 MW capacity of
solar power plants and under Component-B of the Scheme total 64 solar agriculture pumpshave been installed, in Satna district as on 24.07.2025. No applications have been received
from Satna district under Component C of the Scheme.
(c) As per study on “Powering Jobs Growth with Green Energy” carried out by Council on Energy,
Environment and Water (CEEW) in July, 2019, and Co-benefits Study report by TERI in
October 2019, about 13 lakh employment opportunities are estimated to be created in renewable
energy sector by June, 2025.
About 31,829 number of local youth and technical workers got employment who were trained
under Suryamitra, Vayumitra and Jal-urja mitra Skill Development Programmes of the Ministry
of New and Renewable Energy.
(d) National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) allocated training of 30 candidates under Suryamitra
(Solar PV Technician) Skill Development Programme with subsequent employment
opportunity in Satna District. Further, 129 candidates were trained as roof top solar technicians
and 30 candidates were trained as solar entrepreneurs under PMSGMBY in Satna district.
Furthermore, Skill Council of Green Jobs (SCGJ) has so far trained and certified 872 candidates
under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Suryamitra Skill Development Program and other
Schemes in Satna District – Trainings in Solar PV Domain.
