(a) the details of renewable energy produced in Uttar Pradesh, district and source-wise;
(b) whether the lands of farmers in Uttar Pradesh including Baghpat Lok Sabha Constituency are lying
barren;
(c) if so, the steps taken by the Government to promote renewable energy sources on the
lands of such farmers so that the income of the farmer also increase, district-wise including Baghpat
Lok Sabha Constituency of Uttar Pradesh;
(d) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(e) the measures proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard in future?

(a) As per information received from Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency
(UPNEDA), district-wise and source-wise details of renewable energy produced in Uttar Pradesh are
given at Annexure.
(b) to (e) Government of India is promoting renewable energy sources under different schemes such as
Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM), Scheme for
Development of Solar Parks and Ultra-mega Solar Power Projects and National Bioenergy Programme
(NBP), under which the projects can be set up on the farmers’ land, including barren land.
Further, Uttar Pradesh Government is also promoting renewable energy adoption under the Uttar
Pradesh Solar Energy Policy-2022 and Bio Energy Policy-2022. Under the policies, State Government
is promoting farmers’ land utilization all across Uttar Pradesh including Baghpat Lok Sabha
Constituency.
PM KUSUM supports installation of decentralized and ground-mounted grid-connected renewable
power plants and offers subsidies for farmers. Uttar Pradesh Government provides additional subsidy
