RECRUITMENT OF PwD AT INDIAN STATISTICAL INSTITUTE
2803. PROF. SOUGATA RAY:
Will the MINISTER OF STATISTICS AND PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION be
pleased to state:
(a) the total number of posts filled under General Persons with Disabilities
(PwD) category at Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) for faculty recruitments
at higher levels (Associate Professor onwards) and Assistant Professor
Level during the years 2020-2025;
(b) the number of recruited faculties based on the orders from the
Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities under General-PwD categories
based on experience and seniority during the years 2020-2025;
(c) the details of actions taken to recruit faculties under PwD categories
as per seniority and experience to all units;
(d) the number of candidates under General-PwD, who are provided equal
opportunity with all General category candidates during faculty
interview/selection at higher levels of pay scale during the years 2020-
2025; and
(e) the number of advertisements where PwD candidates are not called for
interview?

OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE [RAO INDERJIT SINGH]
(a) and (b) The number of faculty posts filled under the General–PwD
category at the level of Assistant Professor and above during the period
2020–2025 at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata is NIL.
(c) to (e) The Institute follows the rules and guidelines issued by the
Government of India for recruitment of PwD candidates. The eligibility for
the post applied is assessed for all candidates based on the criteria laid
down in the recruitment guidelines. During 2020–2025, a total of 15 PwD
candidates applied against three faculty recruitment advertisements of ISI;
all these candidates were given equal opportunity. However, based on the
laid down eligibility criteria, one candidate was called for interview.
