Will the Minister of FISHERIES ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING मत्स्यपालन, पशुपालन और डेयरी मंत्री

be pleased to State:

(a) the total number of registered veterinary doctors in the country as on date, State/UT-wise, particularly in Bihar;

(b) whether it is a fact that there is a shortage of veterinary doctors in Government hospitals in the country and if so, the details thereof, State-wise particularly in Bihar;

(c) whether the Government has taken any measures or issued policy directives to counter the problem, and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING (SHRI RAJIV RANJAN SINGH ALIAS LALAN SINGH)

(a) The State/UT-wise total number of registered veterinary doctors including the State of Bihar is placed as Annexure-I

(b) The State/UT wise details of sanctioned and vacant posts of Veterinary Doctors are placed as Annexure II.

(c) and (d) Guidelines for minimum standards of Veterinary Infrastructure in India has been framed and communicated to States/UT with the request for adoption and necessary action vide OM No. K-11/47/2024-LH dated 26.11.2025.
