RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS IN TAMIL NADU

Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) the details of renewable energy projects sanctioned or under implementation in
Perambalur Lok Sabha Constituency of Tamil Nadu;
(b) the renewable energy capacity created in the said constituency during the last five years;
(c) whether any solar parks, rooftop solar, Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan
Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) or wind energy projects have been approved for the said constituency
and if so, the details thereof;
(d) the financial assistance released for renewable energy projects in the said constituency during
the last three years; and
(e) the future roadmap for promoting clean energy in the said constituency?

(a) to (c) As per the information received from Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), the
Perambalur Lok Sabha Constituency covers Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, and Karur districts. There
are no wind power projects and no projects under PM-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan
Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) and Solar Parks scheme in these districts.
Details of no. of applications for installation of rooftop solar systems under PM Surya Ghar Muft
Bijili Yojana submitted on the national portal of the scheme and the installations done in these
districts as on 24.07.2026 since the launch of the scheme in February, 2024 are given below:

Further, TNEB has also furnished the Circle-wise details of rooftop solar plants commissioned
during the last five years (from 2021-22 to 2025-26) pertaining to Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli and
Karur which are given at Annexure.(d) TNEB has informed that the financial assistance is not maintained constituency-wise separately.
The details of the funds released by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy for installation of
rooftop solar systems in the State of Tamil Nadu during the last three years are given below:

(e) As per the information received from TNEB, the future roadmap for promoting clean energy in
the Perambalur Lok Sabha Constituency includes the implementation of the Model Solar Village
under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY) in Perambalur and Karur districts,
rooftop solar installations in residential households under PMSGMBY and implementation of the
rooftop solar in other Low Tension (LT) consumers & High Tension (HT) consumers based on
related State regulation provision.
