MANJU SHARMA Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state: (a) the details of new and renewable energy schemes being implemented by the Ministry in the State of Rajasthan particularly in Jaipur Lok Sabha Constituency; (b) the details of the schemes implemented in the country during the last four years; and (c) the total amount of funds spent in this regard along with the number of persons benefited thereunder? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS, & FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (SHRI PRALHAD JOSHI) (a) to (c) A statement is laid on the Table of the House. *****STATEMENT Statement referred to in reply to parts (a) to (c) of the Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 375 to be answered on 18.03.2026 regarding ‘Renewable Energy Schemes in Rajasthan’ asked by Smt. Manju Sharma (a) & (b) The major ongoing schemes/programmes of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy being implementing in the country including the State of Rajasthan are as under: (i) PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) launched in February, 2024 to achieve rooftop solar installations in one crore households in the residential sector by FY 2026-27 with the budgetary outlay of Rs 75,021 crore. (ii) PM Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) for setting up decentralized solar or other renewable energy power plants, installation of stand-alone solar agriculture pumps, and solarization of existing grid-connected agriculture pumps, including feeder-level solarization. The scheme benefits not only farmers but also the States and DISCOMs. A target of 10,000 MW of decentralized solar or other renewable energy power plants and installation/solarization of 49 lakh agriculture pumps has been envisaged with the budgetary outlay of Rs.34,422 crore. (iii) Scheme for Development of Solar Parks and Ultra-mega Solar Power Projects. Under the scheme, the infrastructure such as land, roads, power evacuation system, water facilities are developed with all statutory clearances/approvals. Thus, the scheme helps expeditious development of utility-scale solar projects in the country. The scheme envisages a capacity of 40,000 MW with the budgetary outlay of Rs. 8,100 crore. (iv) Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase-II (Government Producer Scheme) for setting up grid-connected Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Projects by Government Producers, using domestically manufactured solar PV cells and modules, with Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support, for self-use or use by Government/ Government entities, either directly or through Distribution Companies (DISCOMS).The scheme envisages a capacity of 12 GW solar power projects by Government entities with the budgetary outlay of Rs.8,580 crore. (v) Production Linked Incentive scheme “National Programme on High Efficiency Solar PV Modules” for achieving manufacturing capacity of Giga Watt (GW) scale in High Efficiency Solar PV modules (Tranche - I & II). The scheme envisages setting up of fully/partially integrated manufacturing capacity of high efficiency Solar PV modules with the budgetary outlay of Rs.24,000 crore.(vi) Green Energy Corridor (GEC) Phase I and II to create intra-state transmission system for renewable energy projects. Under phase I of the scheme 9700 ckm (circuit kilometers) of transmission infrastructure is to be developed in 8 States namely Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu, with the budgetary outlay of Rs.3164.70 crore. Under phase II of the scheme 7919 ckm of transmission infrastructure is to be developed in 7 States namely Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, with the budgetary outlay of Rs.3947.34 crore. (vii) National Bio-Energy Programme: • Waste to Energy Programme: Programme on Energy from Urban, industrial and Agricultural Wastes/Residues. Budgetary outlay: Rs.600 crore • Biomass Programme: Scheme to Support Manufacturing of Briquettes & Pellets and Promotion of Biomass (non-bagasse) based cogeneration in Industries. Budgetary outlay Rs.158 crore • Biogas Programme: for promotion of family type Biogas plants with the budgetary outlay of Rs.100 crore (viii) National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched in January, 2023 with the aim of making India a Global Hub for the production, utilization and export of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives. The scheme envisages at least 5 MMT (Million Metric Tonne) of annual green hydrogen production capacity by 2030 with the budgetary outlay of Rs.19,744 crore. (ix) New Solar Power Scheme (for Tribal and PVTG Habitations/Villages) launched in January 2024 under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN) and Dharti Aabha Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA JGUA) with a provision for providing off-grid Solar Lighting where electricity supply through grid is not techno-economically feasible with the budgetary outlay of Rs. 915 crore.
