The Government of India, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy provided an answer to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 509 on December 3, 2025, regarding renewable energy sources. The Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy and Power (Shri Shripad Yesso Naik) stated that solar, wind, hydro, and biogenic resources are the major renewable energy sources used to produce electricity.
The source-wise renewable energy generation for 2024-25 (in Million Units) is as follows:

* Wind: 83347.19
* Large Hydro: 148633.98
* Small Hydro: 11568.04
* Biomass: 3738.67
* Bagasse: 9335.32
* Others: 2869.73
* Total: 403643.16
