SHRI KRISHNA PRASAD TENNETI: SHRI MAGUNTA SREENIVASULU REDDY Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has undertaken any survey/study regarding the condition of culturally significant monuments across the country during the last five years; (b) if so, the details of the steps undertaken for the restoration of culturally significant monuments which are in a dilapidated state; (c) the details of the list of restoration projects and the funds allocated, released and utilized during the last five years, State-wise especially in Andhra Pradesh; and (d) whether the Government has set any deadline for the completion of the said projects, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) There are 3685 centrally protected monuments/sites under the jurisdiction of & Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the country. Periodical inspection is (b) conducted by ASI to assess the condition of these monuments/sites and it is a regular process. Conservation and maintenance is taken up as per the requirement of monument/site and availability of resources. However, no monument/site is in dilapidated condition.
