**Subject: Resumption of Train Services Between Gorakhpur and Muzaffarpur via Narkatiaganj**
**Summary:**
This policy addresses the resumption of direct rail service between Gorakhpur and Muzaffarpur via Narkatiaganj, which was discontinued prior to 2016 and further impacted by disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to concerns raised about the inconvenience faced by the public in accessing district headquarters Bettiah and divisional headquarters Muzaffarpur, the Ministry of Railways has introduced the following measures, effective July 18, 2025 and June 20, 2025:
* **15567/68 Bapudham Motihari-Anand Vihar T Amrit Bharat Express:** This new service includes stoppages at Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, and Gorakhpur.
* **15561/62 Darbhanga-Gomtinagar Amrit Bharat Express:** This new service includes stoppages at Narkatiaganj and Gorakhpur.
* **20501/02 Gorakhpur-Patliputra Vande Bharat Express:** This new service, introduced on June 20, 2025, includes stoppages at Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, and Muzaffarpur.
These new services are in addition to the 13 pairs of trains already operating on the Gorakhpur-Narkatiaganj-Muzaffarpur sector. The Ministry of Railways clarifies that the introduction of new train services is a continuous process, contingent upon operational feasibility, traffic justification, and resource availability.
