GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1707 ANSWERED ON 29.07.2026 REVIEW OF PM-KUSUM IN KARNATAKA 1707. SHRI E TUKARAM WILL THE MINISTER OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY BE PLEASED TO STATE: (a) whether the Government has reviewed the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri KisanUrja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) across the country to assess that farmers are receiving its intended benefits; (b) if so, the details of solar pumps, solar power projects, Central assistance released and farmers benefited under the PM-KUSUM during the last three years including Ballari Lok Sabha Constituency in Karnataka; (c) whether the Government has received representations regarding low awareness, delays in implementation and difficulties faced by farmers in availing the benefits of the PM-KUSUM and if so, the details thereof; and (d) whether the Government proposes to strengthen awareness, simplify implementation, expand the PM-KUSUM and ensure that more farmers including those in Ballari benefit from clean energy and additional income and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK) (a) The Ministry reviews the progress and implementation of the Scheme from time to time, in consultation with the States/UTs and other stakeholders, with a view to assess implementation on the ground and facilitate achievement of the intended objectives of the Scheme, including benefits to farmers. In this regard, review meetings are held periodically to take stock of implementation progress and issues arising therefrom. The recent review meeting was also held on 8 July 2026 with representatives of the States and empanelled vendors to review the progress of implementation of the Scheme and related operational matters. (b) During last three years, more than 25.73 lakh farmers are benefitted under all components of the PM KUSUM scheme. The details of projects installed under the scheme, along with the funds released in last three years is placed at Annexure I. The State Implementing Agency (SIA) has reported installation under Component B of the scheme only in Ballari Lok Sabha Constituency, with 186 solar pumps are installed till date. (c) The Ministry has received representations from time to time regarding various aspects of the implementation of the PM-KUSUM Scheme, including issues related to awareness, implementation timelines, and difficulties faced by farmers in availing the benefits. These issues are addressed through periodic review and handholding meetings with the SIAs and empanelled vendors. (d) The Ministry has simplified the procedures and issued comprehensive revised guidelines on 17.01.2024 for ease of implementation of the scheme. To increase the reach of PM KUSUM scheme, extensive outreach and capacity-building workshops are conducted by the Ministry from time to time.
