Will the Minister of PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has taken steps to establish a new riverine or inland port
facility along the coastal belt of Kendrapara, Odisha under the Maritime India Vision 2030;
(b) if so, the estimated project cost, proposed capacity, expected completion timeline and
implementation model;
(c) the details of clearances, land acquisition status and infrastructure linkages (road/rail
connectivity and dredging plan) already completed or underway; and
(d) whether the project is expected to generate local employment and industrial
opportunities for Kendrapara district and adjoining regions and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d) No Sir. However, the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), an autonomous
organisation under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has prepared a project
report for development of National Waterway-5 (Talcher- Dhamra Stretch of Brahmani-
Kharsua-Tantighai-Pandua Nala-Dudhei Nala-Kani Dhamra-river system) for evacuation
of Coal through Talcher Coalfields which passes through Kendrapara District.
