ROADMAP FOR MERGER OF PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS

Will the Minister of FINANCE be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government is aiming for next phase of bank merger, if so the details of the roadmap
of banks merger for the coming financial years;
(b) the basis of decision to merge banks and steps taken to protect depositors interest and service
delivery; and
(c) the steps being taken by the Ministry to protect the interests of bank employees?

(a) to (c): Presently, there is no proposal under consideration of the Government on merger or
consolidation of Public Sector Banks.
