be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government is aware that the rollout of Digi Yatra has been
uneven and delayed across various airports in the country including in
Maharashtra and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the details of airports in Maharashtra where Digi Yatra is operational, under
installation or yet to be approved along with the reasons for delay at major airports
such as Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur;
(c) the total number of Digi Yatra registrations, app downloads and actual users
during the last two years in Maharashtra, airport-wise;
(d) whether the utilisation levels justify the expenditure incurred in this regard
and if so, the details thereof;
(e) whether any time-bound assessment has been conducted to measure actual
reductions in passenger entry and processing time for Maharashtra and if so, the
findings thereof;
(f) whether the Government proposes to extend Digi Yatra to regional and UDAN
airports in Maharashtra, if so, the timelines fixed and the funds allocated and if
not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol)
(a) to (f): Presently, Digi Yatra is available at 24 airports, including Mumbai and
Pune Airports in Maharashtra. Further, Digi Yatra is to be introduced at allairports across the country in a phased manner. No fund is sanctioned/released by
the Government for this initiative. The said expenditure is borne by airport
operators.
The details regarding total number of Digi Yatra app downloads during the last
two years and the number of times Digi Yatra has been used to travel through
airports during the last two years in Maharashtra, airport-wise are at Annexure.
Digi Yatra provide seamless, hassle-free and faster passenger processing, saving
approximately 50% of the passengers' time at different checkpoints at the airports.
