Shri Kunduru Raghuveer: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has received proposals from the Government of Telangana for the establishment of 16 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in the uncovered districts of the said State; (b) if so, the details of the proposals received and the present status of their examination, district-wise; (c) the reasons for the delay, if any, in according approval to these proposals and the timeline fixed for their disposal; and (d) whether the Government proposes to sanction these 16 JNVs at the earliest, considering the objective of ensuring equitable access to quality residential education in educationally underserved districts of Telangana if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a) to (d): The Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme envisages for opening of one Navodaya Vidyalaya (NV) in each district of the country. Opening of new NVs is a continuous process which depends on the willingness of the concerned State Government/UT administration to make available requisite suitable land, free of cost, for construction of the permanent building and making available required temporary building, free of rent, to run the Vidyalaya till the permanent building is constructed. Sanction and opening of new NVs depends on approval by the competent authority as per extant procedures. At present, 16 NVs have been sanctioned in 16 districts of Telangana, out of which 15 NVs are functional. District-wise list of sanctioned NVs in Telangana is Annexed. *****ANNEXURE ANNEXURE REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) to (d) OF LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1292 FOR 27.07.2026 RAISED BY SHRI KUNDURU RAGHUVEER, HON’BLE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT REGARDING SANCTION OF JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYAS IN UNCOVERED DISTRICTS OF TELANGANA District-wise list of sanctioned NVs in Telangana S.
