SHRI JITENDRA KUMAR DOHARE: Will the Minister of POWER be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government proposes to implement any special scheme for the modernisation of sub-stations and transmission network to address the issues of frequent power tripping and low voltage in Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency; and (b) if so, the details thereof? A N S W E R THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD NAIK) (a) & (b): As reported by the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (UPPTCL), there is no issues of frequent power tripping or low voltage attributable to the transmission network in Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency. As Electricity is a concurrent subject, the planning, development and operation of the Intra-State power grid and transmission infrastructure is primarily the responsibility of the State Government of Uttar Pradesh. Government of India supplements the efforts of the States through various schemes to help achieve the objective of providing quality and reliable supply of power to all the consumers. In this regard, under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), projects worth Rs. 441.41 crore for loss reduction infrastructure and Rs. 445.55 crore for smart metering works sanctioned for Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency are under implementation. *************
