(a) whether the Government has opened an online portal for global and Indian automakers to
apply under a new Electric Car Manufacturing Scheme and it is launched to register electric
passenger car manufacturers to avail newly launched Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of
Electric Passenger Cars in India (SPMEPCI); and
(b) if so, the details thereof and the present status of its implementation and funds sanctioned
and utilized till date and response received, State-wise including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh
and Chhattisgarh and company-wise?

(a): Yes. The online portal for Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Electric Passenger Cars
in India (SPMEPCI) has been launched on 24.06.2025.
(b): The application module for applying under SPMEPCI scheme has been launched on
24.06.2025 and is open for applications till 21.10.2025. The details of the scheme are available
at https://heavyindustries.gov.in/scheme-promote-manufacturing-electric-passenger-cars-india-
view. In FY 2025-26, Rs. 12.00 cr. were allocated at BE stage and as on 16.07.2025, Rs. 59.00
lakh have been utilized in meeting administrative expenses. As on 16.07.2025, no response has
been received on SPMEPCI portal.
