SHRI RAMASAHAYAM RAGHURAM REDDY: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) the details of Government scheme and programmes of scholarships and fellowships for students of higher education at international institutions; (b) the total number of students benefitted by these scholarships and fellowships during the last three years; (c) the total amount of funds allocated by the Government for this purpose; (d) the criteria and process for selection of students under the scheme; and (e) the steps taken by the Government to increase the availability of scholarships and fellowships and raise awareness about such opportunities among students? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (DR. SUKANTA MAJUMDAR) (a) to (c) The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE), Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MTA) and Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Department of Science and Technology (DST) provide assistance to Indian students for higher education abroad.
