SHRI RAJEEV RAI: Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that Jal Shakti Kendras (JSKs) have been set up in various States of the country; (b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise including Uttar Pradesh; (c) the funds sanctioned, allocated and utilized for setting up of JSKs in Uttar Pradesh so far; and (d) the time by which the ongoing JSK projects in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to be completed? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI (SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY) (a) Yes. (b) The State/UT-wise details of Jal Shakti Kendras (JSKs) is attached at Annexure. (c) & (d) ‘Water’ being a State subject, the aspects related to water resources including its conservation are studied, planned, funded and executed by the State Governments themselves as per their own resources and priorities. No separate funds are allotted to States for establishment and operation of the Kendras from Ministry of Jal Shakti. They are operated through pooling of resources both human and infrastructure. Under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain (JSA: CTR) campaign, one Jal Shakti Kendra (JSK) has been established in each district of Uttar Pradesh and are fully functional as reported by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
