SHRI DAGGUMALLA PRASADA RAO Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state: (a) the details of the number of solar carports set up across the country along with the companies collaborated therewith, State-wise; (b) whether the Government has taken any initiatives for the setting up of multiple solar carports across the country and if so, the details thereof including the States and if not, the reasons therefor; (c) whether the Government has allocated any budget to set up solar carport parking lots and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and (d) whether any design or implementation standards have been developed or being planned for modular and low-cost deployment of such systems and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS, & FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (SHRI PRALHAD JOSHI) (a) to (d) A statement is laid on the table of the House. *****STATEMENT Statement referred to in reply of parts (a) to (d) of the Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 388 to be answered on 20.08.2025 regarding Setting up of Solar Carports (a) to (d) Presently the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is not implementing any specific scheme for setting-up of solar carports. MNRE is implementing PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) across the country, since February, 2024. Under the Scheme, financial support is being provided to Group Housing Societies/ Residential Welfare Associations to install solar rooftop solar plants for common facilities covering EV charging including through solar carports. However, under the Scheme for Solarisation of sun-temple town of Modhera, approved by MNRE in March 2020, a solar carport has been set-up at Modhera village. In addition, solar carports have also been set up in the country by various agencies. Details, based on the information received in this regard, are given in Annexure.
