S JOTHIMANI: Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to state: - (a) whether the Government had incorporated Artificial Intelligence in skill development training under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY); (b) if so, the details thereof and if no the reasons therefor; (c) the number of youth trained under PMKVY since its inception in Tamil Nadu and Karur Lok Sabha constituency; (d) the number of women along with total percentage of women compared to men trained under PMKVY; and (e) the number of youth trained and subsequently employed in Tamil Nadu and Karur Lok Sabha constituency under PMKVY during the last five years and the current year? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a) & (b): Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is implementing its flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), since 2015, for imparting skill development training through Short-Term Training (STT) and up-skilling and re-skilling through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to youth across the country including Tamil Nadu with aim to enhance the employability of the youth to access employment opportunities by equipping them with industry relevant skills including Artificial Intelligence. (d) Under the PMKVY Scheme as on 30.06.2025, the total no. of women trained across the country is 74,29,181 which is 45 % of total candidates trained. (e) Under the PMKVY scheme, placements were tracked in the Short-Term Training (STT) component in the first three versions of the Scheme which is PMKVY 1.0, PMKVY 2.0 and PMKVY 3.0 implemented from FY 2015-16 to FY 2021-22. Under PMKVY 4.0, the focus was to empower our trained candidates to choose their varied career path and they are suitably oriented for the same. Further various IT tools like skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) also gives this opportunity. From FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25 and the current year till 30.06.2025, under the PMKVY scheme, a total of 2,34,958 candidates have been trained/ oriented in Tamil Nadu. Out of which 11,192 have been reported placed during the first three versions of PMKVY. Further, from FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25 and the current year till 30.06.2025, under the PMKVY scheme, a total of 26,898 candidates have been trained/ oriented in Karur Lok Sabha Constituency.
