As of July 30, 2025, three projects are underway: the Madhogarh Solar Project (45 MW, sanctioned on March 8, 2021, at an estimated cost of Rs. 183.76 Crore), the Jalaun Solar Park (1200 MW, sanctioned on September 17, 2020, at an estimated cost of Rs. 796.96 Crore), and the Kalpi Solar Project (65 MW, sanctioned on September 16, 2021, at an estimated cost of Rs. 350.46 Crore). The Madhogarh Solar Project is in the pre-construction phase, the Jalaun Solar Park has achieved 4.25% physical and 8% financial progress, and the Kalpi Solar Project is completed and under operation. Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that Madaugarh, Jalaun (Ultra Mega Solar Park), and Kalpi in Jalaun
district of Uttar Pradesh have been identified to set up the solar power projects;
(b) if so, the total capacity (in MW), estimated cost and date of sanction of these projects,
(c) the physical and financial progress has been made so far of these projects;
(d) whether any obstacles such as land acquisition, environmental clearance, or non-
availability of investor etc. have been faced by the Government in setting up these projects;
and
(e) the steps have been taken by the Union Government and the State Government so far for
timely completion of these projects?

(a) & (b) Yes, the three projects are being setup in the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh, the
details of which are given at Annexure-I.
(c) Based on the inputs received from Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development
Agency (UPNEDA), the details of the progress of these projects are placed at Annexure-II.
(d) No.
(e) The Government of Uttar Pradesh has provided 2970 acres of land on lease basis under the
Uttar Pradesh State Solar Energy Policy to Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (Joint Venture of
NHPC Limited and UPNEDA) for developing the 1200 MW Jalaun Solar Park. Further, the
progress is reviewed on a regular basis for timely completion of the projects.
