**Summary:**
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is implementing the "New Solar Power Scheme for Tribal and PVTG Habitations/Villages" under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aabha Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA JGUA). This scheme focuses on providing off-grid solar power systems to electrify one lakh unelectrified households in tribal and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) areas across the country, including Uttarakhand, where grid connectivity is unfeasible, as identified by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA). The concerned state implementing agency is responsible for surveying households to determine eligibility for off-grid electrification under the scheme. As of July 30, 2025, the MNRE has not received any proposals from the state of Uttarakhand for household electrification in the Haridwar district under this scheme. The Minister of State for New Renewable Energy and Power, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, provided this information in response to a question in Lok Sabha.
