SOLARISATION OF AGRICULTURAL PUMPSETS

Will the minister of new and renewable energy be pleased to state:
(a) the details of financial allocation made under Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan
Mahaabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) in the country, State-wise including Telangana;
(b) whether the Government of Telangana proposed and requested the Union Government for
solarization of 29 lakh agricultural pumpsets in the State to reduce DISCOM subsidy burden, ensure
reliable day time power supply to farmers and transition to a sustainable, cost-effective agricultural
energy ecosystem and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether the Government of Telangana requested the Union Government to allocate 2 lakh pump
sets under KUSUM-C Feeder Level Solarization for Telangana and if so, the details thereof along
with the details of current allocation to the said State?

(a) The PM KUSUM Scheme is a demand-driven scheme, and funds are released based on the demand
raised by the state, milestones achieved and as per the provisions of scheme guidelines.
The State/UT-wise details of the funds released under PM-KUSUM scheme, including for the state of
Telangana, as on 31.01.2026, are placed at Annexure-I.
(b) & (c) For the PM KUSUM Scheme, the Ministry had received following demands from the state of
Telangana
• Vide letter dated 28.03.2024: 1.2 lakh pumps for Component C (Feeder Level Solarization)
• Vide letter dated 06.09.2024: Conversion of 28000 pumps from Component C (Feeder Level
Solarization) to Component C (Individual Pump Solarization).
• Vide letter date 22.01.2025, 04.03.2025 & 06.05.2025: 2 lakh pumps under Component C (FLS)
However, based on the progress shown by the state and availability of quantities in the scheme the current
allocation and progress of the state till date is as follows:
