Parliament Question: Solarised agricultural pumps under PM-KUSUM

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3656 ANSWERED ON 24.03.2026 SOLARISED AGRICULTURAL PUMPS UNDER PM-KUSUM 3656 SHRI ANIL KUMAR YADAV MANDADI Will the minister of new and renewable energy be pleased to state: (a) whether Government has made any survey regarding total number of solarised agricultural pumps in the farm sector of the country since the inception of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM); (b) if so, the details thereof; (c) whether Government has also made any pan-India survey regarding total quantum of surplus power sold by farmers to DISCOMS/other entities; and (d) if so, the details thereof ? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK) (a) & (b) Component C of the PM-KUSUM scheme provides for Solarisation of Grid Connected Agriculture Pumps including Feeder Level Solarization. The implementation of the scheme is responsibility of the State Implementing Agency (SIA). As reported by SIAs, as on 28.02.2026, a total of 13,54,679 grid connected agriculture pumps have been reported solarized under Component C. This includes 12,787 agriculture pumps which have been individually solarized and 13,41,892 agriculture pumps solarized through feeder level solarization. (c) & (d)The SIAs maintain the data of number of farmers who have sold the surplus power to DISCOMs generated under individual grid-connected pump solarization The state wise number of farmers who have installed individual grid-connected pump till 28.02.2026, are as follows: ● Kerala: 2737 ● Punjab: 25 ● Rajasthan: 2138 ● Tripura: 983 ● Uttar Pradesh: 6900 ● West Bengal: 4 *****
