Status of Ayurswasthya Yojana

Will the Minister of Ayush be pleased to state:
(a) the current status of implementation of the Ayurswasthya Yojana and its major
achievements so far;
(b) the number of Centres of Excellence (CoEs) established or upgraded under the scheme till
date, the institution-wise details thereof; and
(c) the number of Government funded Public Health Initiative (PHI) projects for the purposes
of education, research and capacity building?

(a) The Ministry of Ayush is implementing a Central Sector Scheme namely Ayurswasthya
Yojana having 02 components viz. i) Ayush and Public Health and ii) Centre of Excellence
(CoE). The Scheme is being implemented from FY 2021-22 and valid upto March 2026.
Under the Scheme, the financial assistance of Rs.134.06 Crore has been provided to the
eligible institutes/organisations for the implementation of 53 projects (i.e. 25 projects under
Ayush and Public Health component and 28 projects under CoE component). The details
regarding major achievements (Financial & Physical) of the scheme are at Annexure-I.
(b) Under Centre of Excellence component of Ayurswasthya Yojana, total of 28
institutes/organizations have been supported to be upgraded as Centre of Excellence (CoE)
since inception of the scheme. The institution-wise details are at Annexure-II.
(c) The main aim of the Ayush and Public Health component of the Ayurswasthya Yojana is to
roll out of authentic classical Ayush interventions with following objectives: -
• To promote Ayush intervention for community health care.
• To demonstrate advantages of Ayush health care in public health.
• To support for implementing Sustainable Development Goal-2 (SDG2) and
Sustainable Development Goal -3 (SDG 3) through integrating Ayush system.
• Documentation of the efficacy of Ayush systems through Ayush interventions in
various public health issues which can be taken up in larger scale for
implementation in national health programmes.
Further, under the Ayush and Public Health component of the Ayurswasthya Yojana, 25
projects have been supported since inception of the scheme. Under the above component,
there is a provision for training and capacity building of health care providers on Ayush
Medicines.
