GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICALS AND PETROCHEMICALS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION No - 2178 ANSWERED ON- 01/08/2025 STATUS OF CIPET CENTERS IN ANDHRA PRADESH 2178: SHRI G LAKSHMINARAYANA: Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state: (a) the number and details of Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) centres sanctioned in Andhra Pradesh, including their district-wise location, year of Sanction and operational status; (b) the total funds allocated, released and utilized for each of these centres since inception, year-wise and under key expenditure heads; (c) whether the Government proposes to establish new CIPET centres in backward or aspirational districts such as Anantapur, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam and if so, the status thereof; (d) the number of students trained at each CIPET centre along with the placement outcomes in Andhra Pradesh annually during the past five years; and (e) whether any evaluation has been conducted to assess the industrial impact, MSME linkages and employment generation from these centres and if so, the major findings and follow-up actions taken thereon? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (SMT. ANUPRIYA PATEL) a) CIPET has a Centre for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS) Centre at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, which was sanctioned in 2015. Presently, the Centre offers 03 long-term courses, namely Postgraduate Diploma in Plastics Processing & Testing, Diploma in Plastics Technology and Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology. The Centre also imparts short-term Skill Development Training Courses and provides Technical support services to the plastic industries. (b) The Department had approved the proposal for establishment of CIPET: CSTS, Vijayawada for a total project cost of Rs. 40.10 crore which was shared between the Centre and the State Government on 50:50 basis. The details of the total funds allocated, released by the Central Government and utilized for CIPET: CSTS, Vijayawada is as under:Sl.
