Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of EMRS in Jharkhand, district-wise including Khunti district;
(b) the current status of the teacher pupil ratio in EMRS in Jharkhand, district-wise including Khunti district;
(c) the total number of vacant and sanctioned positions of teaching and non-teaching staff in EMRS in
Jharkhand, district-wise including Khunti district; and
(d) the total number of EMRS having internet connectivity and smart classes in Jharkhand, district-wise
including Khunti district?

(a): 91 EMRSs have been approved in Jharkhand State, including 6 EMRSs in Khunti district. The district-
wise details are at Annexure.
(b): As per the existing scheme guidelines, in an EMRS the maximum strength of students is 480 and
sanctioned post for teachers is 31. As such, the student ratio per school comes around 15.5: 1.
(c): 31 teaching posts and 21 non-teaching posts are sanctioned per EMRS from VI to XII standard with full
strength of 480 students. NESTS carried out its first drive for direct recruitment of 10391 posts through
EMRS Staff Selection Examination (ESSE)-2023 and staff selected have been posted in various EMRSs.
The notification for recruitment of 7267 teaching and non-teaching posts through ESSE-2025 has also been
issued. In addition to the direct recruitment, NESTS also has advised State Governments to engage staff on
deputation and outsourcing basis so that academic activities are not hampered.
(d): Smart classes with internet connectivity are provided in all EMRS in phased manner through ERNET.
Out of 290 EMRS, which have been covered for smart class rooms and internet connectivity, 7 EMRSs are
