STATUS OF EMRSs
727. SHRI JAGADISH CHANDRA BARMA BASUNIA:
Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the amount of funds sanctioned, allocated and utilised under Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS)
since the inception of the scheme, State-wise/Union Territory-wise and year-wise;
(b) the faculty and non-faculty vacancies in EMRS as of 1 November 2025, category-wise and State-wise;
(c) the number of faculty and non-faculty positions sanctioned in EMRS, category-wise and State-wise;
(d) the number of EMRS with no faculty, less than 10 faculty members and less than 20 faculty members,
category-wise; and
(e) the number of students who have dropped out of EMRS since the inception of the scheme, year-wise and
State-wise?

(a) Details of funds Sanctioned and released under the scheme of EMRS over the years are as under:

The State-wise/Union Territory-wise and year-wise funds released for the establishment and operation of
EMRS since inception till 29.11.2025 are given at Annexure I.
(b) to (d) 31 teaching posts and 21 non-teaching posts are sanctioned per EMRS for EMRSs with
classes upto class 12th having a full strength of 480 students. NESTS carried out its first drive for direct
recruitment of 10391 posts through ESSE-2023 and selected teaching and non-teaching staff have been
posted in various EMRSs. In addition to the direct recruitment, NESTS also has advised State Governmentsto depute staff on deputation. Further, directions have been issued to State EMRS Societies to engage guest
teachers against vacancies, and non-teaching staff on outsourcing basis/local engagement, so that academic
activities are not hampered.
(e) The State/UT-wise details of dropout rates of students for the last five years are given at Annexure
